Day 3 – #12beersofxmas
Brewery – Oersoep Brewery in collaboration with Beermoth
Location – Nijmegen, Gelderland, the Netherlands (via Manchester)
The Drink: Canta Lupulus
ABV: 3.0% – 250ml
Style: American Pale Ale
A beautiful tree logo on the bottle cap, pulled off to a very audible fizz and a lot of carbonation, the bubbles break on the surface right down to the very last mouth full. The first aroma was one that reminded me of the first cans of lager opened in the summer as a
kid of 14 adult of responsible and legal drinking age and instantly brought back memories of those more care free times. The white head quickly subsides, the brew is naturally cloudy, looking like a proper fruit juice, freshly squeezed from real fruit. In this case it is “Brewed with Massive melons” and that is the main smell, very soft, dare I say very healthy.
Its BBE was 17th of December 2014, at 3% you do wonder how well it would keep, but as it stands this tastes pretty damn good and I really do not like melons, watermelons yes, but not melons. Which is the joy of beer; helping me appreciate the fruits (especially grapefruit) I really would never eat.
Bags of flavour in this one, it bubbles on the tip of the tongue but is smooth in the rest of the mouth and on the way down, a fair amount of sediment was poured too, but this drink was (just finished it), a lovely refreshing drop, scoring highly for flavour and taste. One for the summer, for a feel good hit…
…Nicotine, Valium, Vicodin, Marijuana, Ecstasy and Alcohol. C-c-c-c-Canta Lupulus…
